The '70s had some truly awful cars to maintain the balance.
Now even the crappiest cars are okay, it isn't possible to have such standout levels of awesome.
also, you're being really unfair on the '60s and a bit on the '80s and '90s too.

But in the 70s you could still drive those cool cars from the 60s and 50s. That's why there is no better time than the present; we can have both cool old cars and cool new ones.
